Urban Forest Public Art Installation, 2013

Once a rat-infested lot filled with demolished building rubbles, the site was transformed into an active public gathering space through the efforts of non-profit public advocacy groups, community members, support of major cultural institutions, and the City’s Parks Department.

 

Responsive City

Ongoing

Responsive City explores how today’s cities operate within the multifaceted realms of society.  The ongoing design research explores, proposes, and builds a reciprocal dialog between people and the built environment.

Option Studios

Ji Young Kim continued expanded research on Community Outreach through option studios at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Architecture Department.

Emergency Housing Mexico, A Home for Everyone

Emergency Housing Mexico is a prototype and planning proposal to relieve the Housing Crisis across Latin America in the immediate future. The proposal focuses on providing higher quality living in short- and long-term habitats by re-imagining fundamental Elements of Home - Air, Water, Light, Thermal Comfort, and the Community.
