Ji Young Kim, RA, Principal
Ji Young is a founding principal at PRAXES based in New York. She works directly with clients to develop design concepts and leads the design team to realize the client’s vision. Ji Young‘s experience working on projects from schematic design through the completion of construction for public and private clients has achieved a high level of design excellence for projects including museums, offices, multifamily housing, private residences, restaurants, and mixed use multipurpose facilities. She is experienced with projects of various sizes and scope as well as the finely detailed interior and industrial design of those buildings respectively.
Ji Young is also an educator. In addition to her professorship at Pratt Institute, she has taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the City University of New York. In addition to teaching, Ji Young’s academic research has been extended through publications, lectures, and community outreach initiatives.
JAY (JAEYOUNG) KIM, AIA, LEED AP, DIRECTOR
With over 10 years of experience, Jaeyoung focuses on the dialogue between architectural form and urban space. His portfolio includes a wide range of program types, informing his expertise in mixed-use, large-scale development.
Prior to joining PRAXES, he worked at Kohn Pedersen Fox in New York on mixed-use, transportation, retail, and hospitality projects, including Embankment Square in Shanghai and Asian Game Official Village in Hangzhou, China. He also worked at CWA in New York focusing on sustainable architectures. He received his B.Arch from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree from Columbia GSAPP in 2012. Jaeyoung is a registered architect in New York and LEED Accredited Professional.
