Situated on a commercial intersection, the site is facing a ten-lane road. 21m x 21m x 13m volume sits at the front of the site continuing the active urban frontage. Layout of the building is reflection of massing division. The project is designed with the idea, Light box, simple division of the façade and materiality create a volume within a volume – light box sits inside of the lime stone box. All core and back of house functions are located toward the west side of the lot which strengthen the concept, also, provides open plan for offices. North and East façade is designed with glass filled with capillaries; energy efficiency of the glazing is superior, and it provides soft glowing light from inside and outside similar to traditional Korean paper. Sustainable wooden frame windows are being specified as well which brings modernized traditional building elements into the contemporary office building.

For a compact kitchen, architect selected white cabinet doors and white oyster shell backsplash which gently reflects light.

Located in Clinton Hill, this two bedroom apartment was designed for an architect with an appreciation for art, light and openness. The owner wanted to create peaceful surroundings with abundant light, low furniture, natural materials and color. Low bookcase along the west wall of the living room provides ample storage for books, records and architectural models. Raw mango wood dining table, bar stools and coffee table bring warmness to the house and join together living and dining areas.

The Elements of Home

Elemental House is a prototype and planning proposal to relieve the Housing Crisis across the Latin America in immediate future. The proposal focuses on providing higher quality living in short- and long-term habitats by re-imagining fundamental Elements of Home – Air, Water, Light, Thermal Comfort and the Community.
