LECTURE

Engaging the City through Design, 2022

This is part of a larger series: Urban Space for Humanistic Analysis

CPI encourages urban dwellers to share their opinions on various social issues. This is a conversation between creators of urban space and their audiences. Experts present their visions of how urban environments have shaped and influenced people living in them.

Speaker:  Ji Young Kim, Founding Principal, Praxes

Purpose: To engage citizens of New York and policy makers to think about how to manage a thriving life in urban environments. Chelsea is the home for many art galleries, tech companies, advertising offices, and some manufacturing facilities. We firmly believe in the inherent dignity of all the people from diverse backgrounds, just like multiethnic, socio-economically diverse residents in Chelsea. We also acknowledge that many people are excluded from the political, economic, and social institutions that shape their lives and careers.
