Praxes is a multidisciplinary design firm based in Brooklyn.  My name is Ji Young Kim and I’m a principal. We believe design can improve our everyday lives and transform them into something extraordinary. I’m a licensed Architect and have completed many architecture and multi-disciplinary design projects all around the world.

Most of my professional experience has been in the United States, working on new construction and gut renovation of cultural, commercial and residential projects for the firms of Shigeru Ban Architects (2014 Pritzker Prize Laureate) and Asymptote Architecture. I’m experienced with projects in various sizes and scope, ranging from apartments to retail to art museums, as well as specific experience in detail and interior design of such buildings.

I’m also an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Visiting Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Pratt Institute. Praxes’ ongoing research is focused on the development of responsive urban interfaces.
